Axis and goalball at the 2024 Paralympic Games
It is not without great pride that the Axis team contributed to the 2024 Paralympic Games which ended a few weeks ago in Paris. This contribution was not directly related to sports or the organization, but rather to the development of a new approach that could revolutionize the world of sport for the blind.
The project developed by Touch2see, a French company based in Toulouse, made it possible to follow the position of the ball on the field live during goalball competitions, while having detailed comments on the action thanks to a dedicated application. Lucy Edwards, who inaugurated the system, talks about it on her Instagram account, which you can find by clicking here.
We can see it in the photo opposite carrying the touch tablet made by us.
As can be seen in her video, the black button represents the ball and moves with the ball’s movements on the field, allowing Lucy to follow the game in real time and enjoy it to the fullest.
But the Touch2see project does not stop there and the team wants to conquer all sports that lend themselves to this kind of system. Football, rugby and basketball are already compatible. Soon tennis, handball, hockey and American football will also be available.
Do not hesitate to visit the Touch2see website to learn more about their touch tablet and as usual, for all your 3D printing and mini series projects, contact our experts!
